Hi, thank you for your wonderful job.
I had connected Itead Slampher (esp8266 based)- an E27 light bulb Screw base WiFi & 433MHz RF Wireless Light Holder device, and flashed with success MOS & wifi.
I am running all of it from my pc (386) with Ubuntu Mate 16.04.02, and my account is set to be administrator:
~/.mos/bin/mos flash mos-esp8266
~/.mos/bin/mos wifi YOUR_WIFI_NETWORK YOUR_WIFI_PASSWORD
~/.mos/bin/mos console
all 3 are running OK, it is connected to the router, and one can access it web site.
The problem starts with running:
~/.mos/bin/mos
It opens firefox, at http://127.0.0.1:1992/dash.html#files
some of the files are marked yellow, some black, and only init.js and 479init.js are marked green.
I can only read the init.js.
For all the others I get the following message (in red):
Server Error
Reason: {"error":"(400) failed to open file \"\""}
When I delete in init.js most content, save & reboot, it will save it in 479init.js, but init.js will not change.
I think all the above has to do with Ubuntu's privileges. Any idea?

    No it has nothing to do with ubuntu privileges.
    It is mos tool fetching files from a device.
    Just to be sure, are you running up-to-date mos?

    Run mos update to update.

  • Thanks. Just did. Have the same results. Sorry.
    I receive the Tick/Tock on the terminal, and the Soft Bootstrap is working too, so the Tx/Rx HW are functioning too.

    weird.
    could you cleanup browser cache please?
    Also try with another browser.

  • Yes, I just did. Cleaned cashes, switched from Firefox to Chromium (as default) reloaded OS and wifi definitions, but:
    At the end, the same results (now on Chromium):
    * some of the files are marked yellow, some black, and only init.js and 479init.js are marked green.
    * I can only read the init.js.
    * For all the others I get the following message (in red):
    Server Error
    Reason: {"error":"(400) failed to open file \"\""}
    * I receive the Tick/Tock on the terminal, and can clear the Console, and the Soft Bootstrap
    * also changed parameters in my wifi details on the configuration file, and saved it. It did, and the 8266 on the console lost connection, and when repaired, work properly.
    * "Welcome to Mongoose OS" on http access for web site is working.
    * MQTT server is accessed:
    Success
    Cloud configured, MQTT settings: {
    "enable": true,
    "server": "test.mosquitto.org:1883",
    "client_id": "",

    Any other ideas?

    Coloring is perfectly normal, it's expected.
    Can't reproduce your problem on mac, trying linux now.

  • SergeySergey Dublin, Ireland

    Reproduced on linux, fix is pushed. Please update mos once again and verify.

  • Sorry, switched to Win 10. Much better. Thx
